Sketchbook

I haven’t used a sketchbook much over the past couple of years but in an effort to create a more experimental, less pressured space to produce work I have been using one more recently. Below are the pages I have produced since January, with a brief description of how they relate to other work at the bottom of the page.

1-18 (ish) early pages continuing to explore the idea of ‘drawing presence’

17/18 (I kind of consider could be one piece) – went on to inform the time-stone piece

19-29 start to introduce objects other than rocks, starting to confuse/equate/blur different materials

26-29 in particular informed a larger series of ‘tangly drawings’

30-32 explore making abstract, flowing, lively landscapes from close ups of sculptures/found materials – again went on to inform larger drawings
